TAZAAR® GeoTag Patent Published

TAZAAR® is excited to announce that GeoTag, our integrated energy-monitoring and tracking module for powered equipment, has now been formally published as a patent.

GeoTag Embedded™ is engineered to be built directly into a host device, where it measures real energy usage, monitors battery status, tracks location and movement, and wirelessly reports this data to the cloud. This enables precise, automated Scope 3 emissions reporting, a key challenge for manufacturers and operators.

A standout feature of the patent is its support for Digital Product Passports (DPPs). GeoTag links the device’s unique identifier (QR/NFC/RFID) to cloud-stored lifecycle, supply chain and emissions data, giving manufacturers an early, future-proof route to EU DPP compliance.

Crucially, GeoTag Embedded™ is designed to be future-ready. All emissions calculations occur in the cloud, meaning reporting models, emissions factors and DPP fields can be updated at any time without changing the hardware. This ensures long-term compatibility with evolving sustainability standards.

As Robert Trebus described at the Green Events & Innovations Conference, GeoTag is a true “Scope 3 tracker” with the power to make events and equipment operations greener and more cost-efficient.

Early Bird OEM Programme Launching at ISE

To coincide with the patent publication, TAZAAR® is opening its Early Bird OEM Programme ahead of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE).

Manufacturers joining the programme will gain early access to GeoTag Embedded™hardware, integration support and cloud onboarding enabling DPP-ready, intelligence-driven products from the next production cycle.
