GeoTag Release Notes – November 2025

Building on last month's focus on better battery visibility on the GeoTag platform, this release focuses on making battery management smarter and more reliable for GeoTag users. Plus, small improvements have been made to the AssetID platform.

Smarter Low Battery Notifications (GeoTag)

Previously, low battery alerts were triggered directly on the GeoTag tracker when the supplied battery voltage dropped below a fixed threshold. In some situations, short-term fluctuations in power draw could cause false or inconsistent alarms, creating noise for users rather than clear, actionable warnings.

This update moves the battery alert logic into the GeoTag platform, improving both accuracy and control.

Platform-managed battery logic

The GeoTag platform now evaluates battery level changes centrally instead of relying on raw voltage thresholds at device level. This gives more reliable notifications and fewer false alarms.

Consistent 40% low battery threshold

A low battery notification is now raised whenever a tracker’s battery drops to 40% or below. This gives users a clear, consistent point at which to recharge batteries before devices lose power.

Enabled by default on all trackers

Low battery notifications are now automatically configured for all users on all GeoTags. There is no setup required to start receiving alerts.

Configurable like any other notification

If you prefer fewer alerts, or only want low battery notifications on specific trackers or channels (e.g. email), you can adjust or disable them using the standard notification configuration tools in the platform.

For more information, see our Notifications tutorial (chapter 3) in the Help Centre.

SMS-ready – don’t forget to add your mobile number

To receive low battery alerts via SMS, make sure your mobile number is added in:

Settings → Account → Extra.

Other release notes:

Better logo scaling on small-screen DPPs (AssetID)

Custom logos now render more cleanly and consistently on compact digital product passports, especially on mobile devices and smaller embedded screens.

Plus: Minor bug fixes (AssetID)

Prevented displaying a 'sign in failed' error during some successful sign-ins on the AssetID platform.
