Here are 5 real-world habits that make your gear a nightmare to steal (and easier to recover):

🔹 Make your kit stand out
Use stickers, coloured lacquer, or even bold, weird designs. Thieves want to resell fast and unique-looking gear is a hassle they’d rather avoid.

🔹 Ditch AirTags
AirTags and other Bluetooth trackers are easy for thieves to detect with a phone. All they do is alert them that something valuable is nearby and give them a head start on finding it.

🔹 Register everything
Serial numbers, model details, colour, and clear photos. Whether you're using an old-school spreadsheet or a Digital Product Passport, it’s the best way to prove ownership and get kit back if it’s found.

🔹 Be unpredictable at rest stops

Paid doesn’t mean safe. Some of the worst thefts happen in places people assume are watched. Never leave valuable gear in the van overnight - especially not in big, well-lit lots.
